Hi my name is Lindy Watts, my dear friend LaChelle Duvall had a horrific accident on April 4th. I have started a GoFundMe account to help her out. Here is her story.

LaChelle was house sitting and caring for her sisters 5 beautiful fur babies while her sister and broth in law drove out to California for the pacific crest trail. LaChelle was on go home day when the nightmare began.

The area had tornados and the strong winds that day and blew everything around on the balcony ~ when LaChelle went to pick things up the door shut behind her and locked. She was in her PJs with no shoes or phone in hand. She saw a fire escape latter, hooked it on the railing to climb down ~ when she got her second leg over the latter, the wood railing split from the nails ~ dropping her over 12 feet onto the ground ~ I can not begin to think the terror that LaChelle was starting to go through. “In LaChelles words”

I knew my leg was broken ~ thank God I had opened the window in the master bedroom for the senior kitties. I was able to drag myself to the back wrap around porch and find a screwdriver and cut the screen out so I could get back in, I couldn’t get the screen out. I brushed my teeth and hair put on some clothes that took forever and the hard part was to get down the front porch stairs and walk through thick gravel about 500 ft to my car. I got myself back to the gate and back out and opened and closed it. Then drove my self 24 miles to the hospital. Balling and praying the whole way I thought I was dying. I have bruises and contusions all over legs, feet, knuckles, knees, arms, elbows, my thumb, right side of my chest ,my toes, the bottom of my feet and a broken left tibia.

LaChelle is a wonderful flight attendant and a wonderful caring person. She will be out of work for some time. I’m asking her friends and my friends to come together for her. Life is so short and accidents can take seconds to change your life. If you can donate anything at all to help in her recovery, it would be greatly appreciated.
