Help Support Young Family through Third Battle with Leukemia

Kyle and Audrey have been going through the hardest time of their lives. In Feb 2020, after finding out that they were pregnant with their first child, Audrey was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Throughout her pregnancy, Audrey underwent chemotherapy to try and combat this cancer. She had reached a point of remission in May of 2020. Unfortunately, in September of 2021 Audrey’s cancer returned; this relapse required a bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy treatments. For the best treatment options during covid restrictions, Kyle and Audrey went down to Houston for the bone marrow transplant. They spent 6 months in Texas, with Audrey’s mother coming to help them manage her treatments and their two little babies. Audrey was recovering well, making it past the two-year mark with good test results at all her checkups.

Unfortunately, in fall of 2024, we received news that Audrey’s cancer is back for the third time. Because of this additional relapse, the next choice has been for Audrey to undergo an experimental treatment. We are unsure where her treatment journey will go, as with experimental trials there are many things that can affect the treatment plan. Audrey has been undergoing this experimental treatment for about two months and is entering a few week break so they can see how her body is responding. In the next few weeks, they will decide the next steps; we know there will be ongoing treatments. The current medical bill due to their copay is $16,000.

Kyle has chosen to be Audrey’s primary caregiver, leading him to take time from work to be with her at her appointments, treatments and hospital stays, as well as being home to help care for her in between treatments. They have been blessed with family that is able to help take care of their children when they need to be away, and to provide support where we can, but the costs of her treatments have been overwhelming.

We are asking for help; Kyle and Audrey have done all they can to manage the financial costs of her treatments these past four years but with this return of her cancer, it has become difficult to manage. They are facing increased medical expenses in addition to their regular bills, and a loss of income as Kyle has had to stop working.

Both Kyle and Audrey have found solace and strength through church, and they request and welcome any prayers for them during this time.
