Hello! I am Nikki, the eldest daughter of Kris and Todd Burt and I am setting up this fundraiser for them. In 2021 my Mom Kris was diagnosed with kidney failure and went on dialysis. She was able to work until this last year…she got really sick on and off and had gotten too sick and weak. By the grace of God she received a phone call on October 8th, 2023 that she may be receiving a kidney and to get ready and be on standby. Later that evening she got the call confirming that her donor kidney was being flown in to Iowa City! With so much mixed emotions my parents packed up and drove 300 miles to prepare my mom for a surgery that would save her life! She had her kidney transplant the next day October 9th! We are beyond grateful because she is so young (55years) and has 7 children and 22 grandchildren, she has been a CNA taking care of the sick and elderly for about 20 years I know this time of year is tough for everyone and life as we know it just isn’t easy, but any little bit helps and it all adds up…. i was hoping to raise some extra money for them to help pay for travel expenses to and from Iowa City, and help them with some bills to get through the winter until they both can go back to work. My dad is currently my mom’s caretaker, as she needs one until she is all healed and ready to get back to work. Thank you for taking to the time to read this! God is Good!
