My name is Lisa Jordan, and I am the proud aunty of a very special lady - Kloe Jordan-Wilson.
As many of you are no doubt aware, in early December Kloe headed off to the doctor to have a lump that she had found in her neck looked at. After a series of tests and scans, she got the worst possible news – the lump was a type of cancer. Things moved really quickly at that point and before anyone could really think about it, Kloe was in at Peter Mac having surgery to remove the malignant tumour.
Next the cancer needed to be diagnosed so the good people at Peter Mac knew what they were dealing with and the best way to proceed through the next steps of Kloe’s treatment. Unfortunately, Kloe’s lump proved to be incredibly difficult to diagnose, and even had to have a trip to the USA to aid in the diagnosis.
After some of the worlds top cancer specialists had a look at the pathology it was determined that the cancer was most likely a Adamantinoma-Like Ewing Sarcoma, pretty much the rarest of the rare. Kloe now must undergo a very long and drawn out chemotherapy and radiation course for what is likely to be the rest of this year.
Kloe will be unable to work during most of this time as the chemotherapy is going to take quite a toll on her both mentally and physically. In addition to Kloe being off work for an extended period, her partner Francis will also be off work as often as he can to look after Kloe and keep her company when she is feeling unwell or particularly low.
For those of you who know Kloe and Francis you know that they are fiercely independent and quite proud people and its for that reason we, Kloe’s family, are opening this page. I know that they are going to find themselves with a lot of unexpected expenses and possible limited income, so I want to do what any aunty would do – make sure that they are taken care of financially, so that they can focus entirely on each other and the mental and physical hurdles that are ahead of them both. The purpose of this fundraiser is to ensure that neither Kloe nor Francis have to worry about money, with all these funds helping them with medication, daily living expenses, tolls, parking etc.
The funds for this fundraiser will be sent directly to Kloe, not via a third party.
We as a family would truly appreciate any help, any ideas, any insights, anything helpful that will be beneficial to Kloe and Francis as they take on 2021 with their heads held high while kicking cancer in the ass.
