PLEASE Help Kimmy Kick Cancer’s Ass
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Tim, and the cause of this fundraiser is to help my wonderful wife Kim Casinelli beat the cancer diagnosis that she received in January.
It all started in December with a CT scan for a persistent cough that would not go away post a COVID infection. There was a small mass found in the lower right lung that turned out to be a slow growing and non-aggressive type of MALT Non- Hodgkins Lymphoma. After recovering from the initial shock and after much research and meeting with 5 different Oncologists and multiple Radiologists in Oregon and California a treatment plan was quickly decided beginning with Targeted Radiation which will start this Thursday 3/31 at UCSD in San Diego. This treatment has the potential of eliminating the mass in her lung, but it does not address the root cause of why this cancer is here in the first place and preventing any possible future reoccurrence will take much more time, investigation, and dedication.
Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma is a “Blood” cancer and considered “treatable” if caught early but there is not a “cure” just the hard work and journey she will be endlessly be doing to keep it from ever coming back. This is also a “secondary” cancer for Kim as she has already previously been diagnosed with Melanoma multiple times over the past 10 years which she continues to highly manage regularly and vigorously on an ongoing basis.
Kimmy is truly hoping to build a plan for ongoing treatment that will keep her cancer free for many years to come as she knows that the western medical approach isn’t going to “fix” the cause and only will address the symptom. The problem is that all of these items cost money – medications, supplements, various mind and body treatments, travel which we’ve already been expensing and more – and just the current costs is already proving to deplete the family’s savings. Along with the fact that Kim is also self-employed and will be missing work for an extended period of time which started a few weeks ago.
The stress around this has been massively brutal for her and I have watched her literally crumble from the pressure this is causing the family. The last thing we want is for Kim to embark on this treatment and her future healing journey under more stress than she already has circulating from this diagnosis.
Your donations will go to help her on this healing journey along with helping her feel at peace for her family’s sake from all of the financial burdens this has and will entail.
Below you can read more about Kim and her plan to win this battle:
A little more background on Kimmy: Kim is currently living in Central Oregon with me/her husband, Tim and daughter, Laila. She also has a grown son, Cameron, in Los Angeles. Most of the family’s relatives are in Southern California but they have developed a wonderfully supportive extended family at their current home in Bend. Kim has a wonderful Gyrotonic (mind/body) business in which she gives so much of herself to so many others by helping them to breathe and move/feel better in their own bodies. She has a love for nature and the outdoors and loves hiking and exploring everywhere with her family and friends, she has a very dedicated and daily Gyrotonic and yoga practice of her own loves the ocean and really enjoys making art with her daughter roaming farmers markets, drinking tea and cooking healthy food for friends and family.
With all of these incredibly healthy parts of her life and an already very healthy diet you can imagine the surprise that Kim felt when she heard the word “Cancer” come from her doctor. When studying up on Kim’s type of MALT lymphoma the main causes are chronic inflammation and stress.
She has already taken many tests to detect what could be causing chronic inflammation within and is awaiting the results of a test on over 500 different items that may be adding to this. Besides removing these items there are also many other methods that can contribute to help reduce inflammation and stress in her body but unfortunately many are not covered by Insurance. And before she gets into a rhythm with her new dietary and treatment needs, she will be performing a detox program to clean out the detrimental side effects of the radiation treatments.
She is fortunate to have health insurance coverage that can cover some of the medical related costs to this battle. Unfortunately, the extended out of pocket costs have already taken up most of the family’s savings and to finish the fight properly it will take funds that the family doesn’t currently have.
