Please Help Kim Goodfellow on her ALS journey

My name is Trina Avalos, I am fundraising for my dear friend Kim Goodfellow and her family. I am asking you to please consider helping my friend in need.

 

After a long journey of trying to figure out what was going on with Kim’s body, in Sept of 2019, Kim was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). When you’re diagnosed with ALS you are told you likely have a 2-to-5-year lifespan and during that time your ability to walk, speak and breathe will slowly slip away. Some people can live for decades with ALS while some people lose their battle in a relatively short amount of time. There is no way of knowing how the ravaging effects of this disease will specifically impact your body or for how long.

 

Kim and her family have been persevering, however, the challenges they face are only getting bigger. As Kim’s situation worsens, there are new and growing expenses to ensure that she is adequately cared for and can live in relative comfort. Currently her husband is home caring for her worsening condition with no pay, as insurance does not cover any home care services. As you can imagine watching someone you love to go through something as horrific as this disease has put an enormous stress on the family.

 

Normal everyday things that we all take for granted walking, talking, and eating can’t happen without considerable investment. All of this is in addition to mounting medical and home expenses for her care.

 

 

I kindly ask you to please show them you are in this fight with them! Please donate what you can to help Kim and her family on their difficult journey. All donations will go toward Kim’s treatment and care and to ensure her basic needs to keep her as comfortable as possible as her condition worsens.
