Cancer is a silent disease that changes a person’s life forever along with loved ones and family that are by their side. I have honestly put off doing this because writing my thoughts down while telling this story truly makes it “real” for me. My best friend, love of my life recently found out that he has stage 4 oral cancer that is fast and aggressive. Kevin Smith will be having surgery at Mass General to remove the tumor that is aggressively growing on the inside of mouth. He will under go major surgery to have a jaw bone replacement, and facial reconstruction. Kevin will have a very long road ahead of him staying in the hospital, rehab, radiation and chemotherapy. Medical bills, and medications will be costly. I am not one to ask for help, but honestly it takes my breath away to even think about what he will be facing very soon. Prayers will also mean the world to me “us” as we face this difficult and dark days together. All donations will be greatly appreciated. It means a lot to us. Anything will help during this very difficult time. On a positive note please don’t hesitate to reach out to him or me I will make sure he reads everything! It will help boost his spirits!
