Please help Kelly and Sophie rebuild their lives 2025 floods

Kelly is an amazing woman and mum of two who works two jobs. She has owned and loved this house in Glenthorne (Taree) since 2009 and this house is where both her kids grew up.

Kelly has renovated this house from the ground up, spending all her spare time working on the house. Anybody who knows her knows how dedicated and hard working she is.

Both Kelly and her beautiful daughter Sophie have now lost everything in the floods. Not only does this include their home, but also all of their possessions, as well as Kelly’s car.

After the 2021 floods, they spent time and money to repair and fix their bottom shed/room. The 2025 flood level came as a huge shock, this time completely inundating their whole house. The last images taken were before high tide, so the damage levels are unknown. Both Kelly, Sophie, their two dogs and bird were airlifted and are thankful for the work done by SES to keep them safe. They are devastated for the whole community and all those who have lost so much.

Unfortunately, due to the cost of house insurance in flood zones, they did not have any flood cover. This leaves them without a home with a long road ahead to try and rebuild their home, including some sense of normality.

Kelly and Sophie are too proud to ask for help, hence why I am posting this. If you can donate in any way, even if it’s a small amount, please do so or reach out if you have any other ways you can lend a helping hand ❤️
