Please help Kellie and Bill with cancer expenses
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nicole and I am trying to raise some funds for 2 very deserving people to help lessen the financial burden of costs associated with cancer treatment in Ottawa.
I met Kellie when I was 12 yrs old, she has been a very important part of my life for the past 40 years. We've been there for each other thru all the highs and lows of life, even though she moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario when we were 16.
She met Bill, the man of her dreams in 2019. Bill, like herself, has had more then his share of health issues. In 2012, he was diagnosed with Buergers disease and as a result he had to have a leg amputated from the knee down. But he persevered! In 2018, the year before he met Kellie, he was diagnosed with Follicular Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, he went thru treatments and got past that. Then in 2020 he was diagnosed with another type of Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, he underwent 15 months of chemo, then near the end of that treatment in 2022 he found out the Follicular Lymphoma was back. He then went thru 2 years of chemo/immunotherapy injections every 3 months, that was completed in the spring of 2024.
This past winter he found another lump, he called his oncologist, after a series of tests, he was told the Follicular Lymphoma was back and has spread to his spleen and possibly his appendix. Things have moved very quickly since the diagnosis and they are currently in Ottawa where he is undergoing a stem cell transplant, they will be there for @3 weeks Thankfully, the travel and lodgingl expenses were covered. However, the cost of groceries, laundromat services and some specialized equipment that Bill needs, ie. shower chair, etc. is not, they are all out of pocket expenses. We all know how expensive food is this day and age and where they are in a strange place without a vehicle, they have to either get a taxi to get groceries or get them delivered which adds to the expense. They basically had to start from scratch with needing to buy spices, food, cleaners, laundry detergent, etc. Both of them are on disability and do not have much income so please if there is any way possible to please donate, even $2, $5, whatever you can spare because it will all add up and be more then appreciated!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for even taking the time to read this. If you can't donate, I ask that you please share this as much as possible, Words of encouragement are also greatly appreciated and go a long way! ❤️
