The Joy of Dancing was founded by Miss Joy Sinnott in 1976. She started teaching dance at her house until she had too many students and had to open a dance studio. She spread the joy of dance for over 30 years until she retired in 2007. Miss Nicki was honored to become the new director at the studio that she grew up in and danced at for over 20 years. The Joy of Dancing has been in the San Jose community for over 40 years. We are now teaching the children of former dancers. Spreading the joy of dance across the generations. Teaching the joy of dance to boys and girls age 2 and up.
When SIP took place in March we were lucky that we could still teach dance via zoom but lost a lot of students. Many dancers finished the end of the school year with us but when summer hit, they didn't return. Now with school on zoom all day, they don't want to be on zoom for dance too. Many parents and dancers are waiting for in person classes.
Unfortunately, CA and Santa Clara County have restrictions on class size and if we can have in person classes. Unfortunately with the new restrictions, I can not have dancers in the studio.
We need help keeping the studio alive, so when we get permission to open the doors at capacity, we can welcome you back with open arms. This pandemic as taken a huge bite out of the studio. Please help keep The Joy of Dancing open and ready for all the dancers to come back. We can still teach and spread the joy of dance with a little help from our friends, the JOD family and people like that you that want to keep small businesses and dance studios open.
Thank you for your support and we appreciate anything that you can donate to keep dance alive at The Joy of Dancing! #wedanceforjoy
