Looking to sell a slightly used slightly cancerous prostate

Donation protected

Hi guys, my name is Jess and my husband Chris has just been diagnosed with a (his drs words) very aggressive form of prostate cancer. A little bit of background on chris and his history with cancer, his family have been fighting cancer as far back as great grandparents, he lost both his beautiful parents to cancer, both sets of grandparents an uncle and a great aunt. So hearing this news obviously wasn't a huge shock and I suppose was always on the back of our minds as something we will be dealing with at some stage, however the financial fight was not something we were prepared for. When you look into getting YOUR super there are SO many loopholes that reduce your chances of accessing your own money. Every person Chris has opened up to about his diagnosis has offered him money to help, but Chris is very proud and a little bit stubborn and does not want to accept help from others, and look normally I would be the same, but I cannot sit back and not help the man I love. Already we have spent $4500 just for the biopsy and scans and urologist visits but the thought of needing to spend another $30000 + for the removal of his prostate is scary and just not something we can reach since we can't access his super. We spoke about getting a loan but since I'm studying and not working that isn't an option, we spoke about selling his beloved fairlane but in reality whilst it is worth $30000 reality is to reach that goal we would have needed to sell that baby years ago because people just don't have the money for such luxury. Which is also why I have been hesitant to start a go fund me page because the thought of asking people who are already struggling for money to give up their hard earned cash seems insensitive, however at this point in time I see no other way forward. My biggest fear is if we have to go public 1 we wait to long and it spreads to his bones and then we have an even bigger fight on our hands........ or be going public we no longer have our urologist in our corner and the risks of Chris living with erectile dysfunction and the loss of his bladder control putting him in nappies, I don't know about you but I can't even imagine how that would affect his mental health, ultimately robbing him of his manhood at such a young age.

So please I ask that you share this as far and wide as possible and if your partner is over 40 or has family history please please please get them to have their prostate checks done, finding this early can reduce your risk of death. And also by sharing this it may not be as big of a shock when you realise we don't actually have that much support from our government. I have set this fund-raiser to $20000 as I've heard if you don't reach your target you can't access your funds however big picture we are looking at $30000 + so again I ask please share share share and fingers crossed if everyone can chip in $5 we can make a start on this terrifying journey we are on.

Thank you for listening to our story and we appreciate any help any one can give.
