If you are reading this, you are probably either a friend of Kathryn Lee or an owner of a Kathryn Lee dog. Friends, Kathryn really needs our help. As many of you know, several years ago, Kathryn had a new neighbor move to her street in North Kingstown, RI. This neighbor, a prominent Brown University professor, evidently did not know that a dog breeder lived across the street. Instead of raising the issue with their realtor, the professor and his wife have focused their displeasure on Kathryn. I don't know all the details, but it started with verbal confrontations, and now this professor and his wife are taking Kathryn to court, claiming that Kathryn's dog-breeding permits should be voided. If Kathryn loses, she and her dogs would be forced out of their home. Kathryn is elderly and not a wealthy person. All this has taken a terrible toll on her health, and the last time I spoke to her she was in tears. Her other neighbors are on Kathryn's side, and they've tried to convince the professor and his wife to leave Kathryn alone. To no avail. Kathryn has already spent $10,000 on legal fees, and if the case goes to trial, it could cost her $10,000 more. I'm a Brown alum myself, and I know there are Kathryn Lee dogs all over the Brown campus. But there are two other reasons I feel a responsibility to aid Kathryn: Lily and Maisie. They are our own Kathryn Lee goldendoodles, and they were (and are) the sweetest souls who added so much to our family. If you feel the same way about your dogs, please help Kathryn.
