UPDATE (9/9/25)

Kasyno was misdiagnosed with first vet. Van Buren Animal Hospital. I took him to emergency room Monday (9/8/25) he had a fever of 104.9. They said he doesn’t have an infection - his GI tract is inflamed and had issues with his soft tissue in his esophagus. There was food particles stuck in the soft tissue (which is common for dogs with his snout).

he’s on day 1 of his meds from ER and waiting for his appetite to come back. He’s still not eating much!

Hi, my name is Jessica, and I’m reaching out for help with my sweet 4-year-old French Bulldog, Kasyno.

Kasyno is normally a healthy, happy, and talkative pup with a huge personality. He doesn’t have the typical breathing issues Frenchies face — he loves to play and be active. But last Saturday (8/30), everything changed.

Kasyno suddenly stopped eating and drinking on his own. He’s been trembling, struggling to stand, favoring his leg, very weak, hoarse when he tries to bark, and constantly acting like he’s about to throw up.

I rushed him to a lower-cost vet since I couldn’t afford the fees at his regular vet. They told me he had an infection and prescribed antibiotics, but I still don’t know what kind of infection — and he hasn’t improved. He only takes water and broth from a syringe, and each day he’s getting weaker.

On top of this, Kasyno’s knee cap is loose and will eventually need surgery. The vets want to keep him overnight for monitoring, lab work, and supportive care, but the cost of treatment and hospitalization is overwhelming for me right now.

Earlier this year, I was already in and out of the vet with his brother, Chewie (a French/English bulldog mix), for severe allergies. Pet insurance wouldn’t cover his Cytopoint injections because it was considered preexisting, so I’ve been managing those costs out of pocket. Between both dogs, I’m financially stretched thin.

I love Kasyno with all my heart and just want to give him the chance to get better and live the full, happy life he deserves.
