K. Mekhi, my 16-year-old grandson, has already faced more challenges than most kids his age. After enduring a long and difficult custody battle that just recently ended, he was finally starting to find some stability. But now, he’s been wrongfully expelled from his private school for something he did not do. The school has provided no evidence of wrongdoing and has not conducted a proper investigation. This has devastated our family, especially my daughter, who is a single mother working hard to care for her children.

K. Mekhi is a good student—he’s been on the Honor Roll every quarter for the last three years and has never had any disciplinary actions. Because of this wrongful dismissal, no other school will accept him, and his chance for a good education and a bright future is at risk. We are doing everything we can to fight for him, but we need help to go before the school board and make sure his voice is heard.
