My best friend, my little chunker baby, June, took a recent trip to the vet because she had been lethargic and losing weight recently. I could feel that something was wrong. She just really hadn’t been acting like herself. I figured she just hadn’t fully recovered from a cold she had back in March. We had an exam and bloodwork done. With the bloodwork findings, they suggested an ultrasound to identify some kind of mass they were feeling in her belly.

What I thought was just a fever, turned out to likely be a cancerous mass in/around her intestines. It is to the point where it is starting to affect her spleen and liver.

My little bestie has been with me since I was 20 years old, and now only has a potential handful of months to live. This cat got me through the worst of my depression and insomnia in college. She traveled from dorm to dorm with me, raised and loved by every college kid who came through the door. She would also travel with me to Iowa City when Jack started football there. Kitten Junie was adored by the Iowa football team and looked so tiny in the giant hands of these big linebacker men. June had gone everywhere with me, living or traveling with me through 8 different residences in her 7 years of life so far. She loves car rides with her mom, whipped cream, playing in the grass, sitting on my and Jack’s laps, sleeping above my head, catching flies, and most importantly being lazy. She does nothing but love her mom and dad, and all I’m asking is for some help to do everything I can to put her through surgery and chemo. Worst case scenario I just want to make the last of her time with me comfortable and happy.

If you know me, you know that my cats are my life and that I treat June as my literal child. I’ve had her since she was 5 weeks old, and she genuinely changed my life and got me through my hardest times. Whenever I am sad, she can tell and always comes to sit on my chest and snuggle my neck.

Now I’m here, asking for some help through her hardest time.

The costs of just the starting vet visit was over $900, the ultrasound that found the mass cost $800 on its own. Moving forward, potential surgery and chemotherapy will cost in the thousands.

I am in the middle of purchasing a house with my fiancé, and am not financially able to continue racking up thousands on my Care Pet Credit Card to help June. We actually close on our house on June 3rd, 2024 and I’m very scared that these vet costs on the card will affect our chances on closing on this house. Meanwhile, I would also give every cent I have to cure my Bug and/or assure her quality of life is as best as it can be for the coming months.
