Please Help Julia battling against TNB Cancer

2023 is looking very different for my friend Julia or as our family affectionately calls her, Aunt Juju.

On January 25th, she was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer which tends to grow quickly, is more likely to have spread at the time it’s found, and is more likely to come back after treatment than other types of breast cancer. Because of this, the survival rates for TNBC are generally not quite as high as they are for other types of breast cancer.

Julia is a single mother of a brilliant teenage son. Upon diagnosis, there wasn’t a minute of hesitation, she started taking the first steps to get this cancer in remission. Julia is also self employed, and we know that this will be an expensive venture.

The last few weeks have been long, confusing, and emotional, to say the least, nevertheless none of that will prevent Julia from hitting this hard with chemotherapy for 6 months, followed by a double mastectomy. She is committed to do the hard work so she can get her life back.

Unfortunately this diagnosis hits harder as 7 years ago her beautiful younger sister Maria lost her battle with breast cancer. Now……..7 years later she is up to bat with cancer. Her sister’s journey with cancer serves her as guideposts for her and she couldn’t be more grateful.

She is so grateful to have amazing friends and family supporting her and offering help during this bumpy journey. Despite all the support she is receiving she has had to suspend her online booking until she sees how her body responds to treatment. Julia is a massage therapist. The ability for her to maintain the same level of clients is solely based on how she feels from her treatments as she is taking it day by day, when and if she feels well enough to endure taking on a client she will be requesting clients to arrive with a mask as her immune system will be compromised

Julia is one of the most amazing, kind, loving and most genuine human beings on this planet, the type that will go out of her way to help someone in trouble or a shoulder to lean on l when life hits you with a ton of bricks. Juju’s ability to accept help is borderline difficult, though as she is battling for her life she has found herself on the receiving end and It's been humbling for her to accept the love and generosity of others.

Medical bills are growing, transport costs for treatment are added expenses, the costs of daily basic needs stay the same and her ability to provide the same levels of income is reduced at least by 60% and these challenges distract focus, energy needed for her recovery.
