Please help Judy Steppins in her time of need

Hello friends and acquaintances of Judy Steppins.

I am her daughter-in-law Susi Steppins.

As you may recall, Judy was hit head on by a drunk driver last August and it has unfortunately changed her life forever.

She is no longer able to care for herself at home and she needs round the clock care.

She has been at the Villas in San Bernardino since last October.

We have been paying for her to be there out of pocket.

I am starting this GoFundMe page for her as a last ditch effort to try and keep her at the Villas, where she is receiving great care.

We have applied for Medi-cal for her and if she is approved, they will help pay for her continued care at the Villas in San Bernardino going forward. We originally applied in April and have been fighting them every step of the way. We have faced numerous challenges including hearing that Covid has delayed everything and they are extremely understaffed.

If she is not approved we will have to find a facility that will accept her regardless of her income, which will likely be a state home in Victorville, but we are very hopeful that it will all work out for her at the Villas.

I do realize that so many of you have already been so generous in helping her with the original GoFundMe page that her granddaughter, Nikia, started for her back in September. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness.

Unfortunately we have completely run out of funds and have no more resources to pull from to keep her where she is. This is the reason for this page.

If you can help monetarily it is very much appreciated.

If not, I know that Judy believes in the power of prayer very much so that would be helpful as well.

We only have to get through 2 more months at the Villas and then we will know for sure one way or the other if she has been accepted by Medi-cal or not. They are telling us that they have to give us a final decision by September 14th.

If not we will obviously have to make other arrangements.
