My parents, John and Linda Kolasa are facing hardship. I know we all are, but on top of this pandemic, my dad has endured a plethora of health issues recently including a heart attack, 99% blocked main artery, bad valve, crohns disease, and painful gastroparesis. He’s severely malnourished from feeding tube issues with 5 months of an open hole in his stomach until it could be surgically closed, and then pneumonia and sepsis. He had entivio treatments and just found out that the $32,000 bill is not covered by insurance.

After a cancer battle years ago, his speech was impaired and he feels embarrassed by it, but he could still find enjoyment from eating small amounts of pureed foods. Now swallow tests show that he can no longer have anything by mouth, which is devastating to him. His salvation from all of this has always been to go to the garage and work on his cars that he's had since the 70's. On April 2, the garage where he kept his cars, tools, and longtime treasures caught fire. Everything that was meaningful to him was badly damaged. Brave firefighters and bystanders went into the burning building and pulled out flooded vehicles. My dad had bare minimum insurance coverage, and the extent of their loss is dreadful and enormous!

I created this GO FUND ME in hopes of helping them to build a garage for my dad to have a safe haven again. After all he’s been through, this loss cannot be his demise. COVID has affected many people financially, including me, but I am reaching out to those who have been more fortunate and are willing/able to help.
