Please help Jim Swaney with this difficult time!

James "Jim" Martin Swaney born December 17, 1967, is a beloved member of our community having lived in Lake Havasu City for over 40 years. He is a father of 5 children, businessman, and a friend to many in our town. In 2011 Jim opened his own business, All Sheet Metal, and quickly became one of Havasu's top HVAC companies, known for their experience and of course, his quick-witted humor. In 2019, tragedy struck the Swaney family when Jim lost his second love, Rhonda, suddenly & very unexpected.

Devastated, Jim and his daughter Rebecca did their best to try and move forward with their lives, but unfortunately only a few months later tragedy struck the family again. Jim suffered a massive stroke that resulted in him losing all mobility on his left side, memory loss, and difficulty with speech. He tried occupational therapy to regain the function he'd lost, but the damage to his brain was great and he needed to have round the clock care - care that is provided solely by his youngest daughter Rebecca.

Late 2021 Jim started complaining of jaw pain and just two short months into the new year, he made multiple trips to our local hospital with no luck of any diagnosis, but found he had an infection that lead them to believe he had a possible abscess. Jim was taken to an oral surgeon in Phoenix where it was found to be a mass on his jaw bone. A biopsy was performed and it confirmed our worst fear, cancer - squamous cell carcinoma to be exact.

Jim just returned home on February 25 after spending 2 weeks at Sunrise hospital in Las Vegas with no answers. Due to his stroke, he is extremely weak and has been unable to receive any measures to fight this very aggressive cancer. Rebecca has made the difficult decision, with her father’s best interest in mind, to put him on hospice care for him to be comfortable in his last days.

Hospital visit after hospital visit, seeing specialists, and now hospice care, this all has become extremely expensive and with Rebecca being his only source of income for herself as well as Jim, we just ask if you have anything you can give during these times, it would greatly be appreciated!

Rebecca has given everything and more to take care of her father and has been by his side since day 1. Any help would greatly relieve some stress from her shoulders while trying to continue his care, to help with any medical debt, and unfortunately pay for funeral services when the time comes.
