Thank you SO much everyone! This was a huge success and we are so grateful! we are no longer accepting donations. Updated Info!: Jeremy had his first procedure today and preliminary indications are good! Thank you SO much to everyone who helped make it possible. I am stunned by the generous response from so many good folks. I'm leaving the fundraiser up a little longer to get him started on saving for the next procedure (the other leg), but I am so hopeful that this will be a turning point for his health journey. Thank you again, Timothy
I'm Timothy Patton and I am raising funds for my dear friend Jeremy Richmond's urgent, uncovered medical expenses. Some of you may know him by the stage name Jeremy Glass. If you are an old friend, you may be thinking "wait, didn't we raise money to Save Jeremy's Leg 2-3 years ago?" and "Doesn't the guy have insurance?" Those are legitimate questions, so I want to give you a thumbnail sketch of the really complicated and frustrating (not to mention painful and frightening) medical journey he has been on the past few years, and why we think this procedure, which his insurer refuses to cover, could be a turning point for the better.
Jeremy has been on various blood thinners for years because of blood clots in his legs. He has open wounds on both legs that will not heal, which of course the blood thinners do not help. So, for several years and multiple hospitalizations , he's been fighting infections in these open wounds. The current theory is that all of this is further complicated by a condition called Antiphospholipid Syndrome.
With the legs finally infection-free, Jeremy's doctor wants to perform an ablation (currently scheduled for Friday, 10/10/25). This is a procedure to close off damaged blood vessels, thereby encouraging improved blood flow via the healthy vessels. Jeremy's Health Insurance determined , even after appeal, that It was a "Non Covered Benefit". For context, ablations are more commonly a procedure to get rid of ugly spider veins before swimsuit season. In Jeremy's case, however, the vascular surgeon characterized it as a "limb saving procedure", but insurance won't budge.
We are currently seeking to raise $3200 to have the first leg treated. No one is 100% sure that this is the missing piece in the puzzle, but we are hopeful. The condition continues to worsen, so something has to change. The wounds are hard to look at, so I am not posting pictures, but I can share them on request if that feels important to you.
Several of Jeremy's friends have plans under development for a benefit concert to help pay for the second leg if this surgery is a success, but that can't happen fast enough to help with the immediate need. Jeremy has asked me to be the steward of any money you are generous enough to donate. I will pay it to the doctor directly.
If you know Jeremy, you know he is a sweet, gentle man and a brilliant artist. Thank you for any support you are able to give!
