PLEASE HELP JEREMIAH GET THE CARE HE DERSERVES
Donation protected
On April 27, 2022 my son Jeremiah Roosa was involved in a tragic accident.
After experiencing some car trouble and successfully avoiding an accident, Jeremiah left his car and was then crushed and pinned between his car and another car. (To clarify, Jeremiah’s car was stuck on the median and when freed began rolling at an extreme and unexpected pace. No one was at fault, and this was truly just a series of unfortunate events. Meaning, no person can or will be held liable, and no insurance will cover any costs.)
Without friends or family aware, he was rushed to the hospital. We later learned it had completely crushed his pelvis, split his sacrum, broken many ribs, also a break within his spine and many more fractures. Still without a person that loves Jeremiah knowing, he was immediately rushed into emergency surgery where they placed an external fixator (which is when rods are screwed into bone and exit the body to be attached to a stabilizing structure on the outside of the body), this will be in place for at least 8 weeks. The surgeons also placed a 6 inch screw holding his pelvis open for the fixator and two 5 inch screws into the lowest portion of his spine. We cannot foresee the future but what we know with certainty is his recovery will be brutal. With such a tragic injury to his lower body and legs and the atrophy that has already begun, he will have to relearn how to walk. Jeremiah is in constant and agonizing pain. These physical issues are parallel with his mental health as well. Jeremiah is a naturally happy person but this situation is, mentally and emotionally, extremely difficult on him.
Many of you reading this know him well, and you will all agree that Jeremiah has the biggest heart. His genuine kindness is like no other. He is so very loving and extremely sensitive. He is an amazing son and he adores his little sisters. Jeremiah is extremely loyal and loves his many close friends very much. Jeremiah is the person to call if you need anything and he is always the last to ask for help.
Even since a young age, Jeremiah showed integrity and has been dependable, hardworking, resourceful, and self-reliant. We’ve always been so proud of his true character. He was an amazing high school athlete. Jeremiah took wrestling very seriously, winning sectionals and first place in many county meets. Also during high school he successfully finished boot camp and following high school he completed three years of National Guard Reserve. Jeremiah has stayed dedicated and pushed himself physically. While he is often found on the golf course, his true passions are much more extreme and physically demanding! Jeremiah truly loves life and finds peace in nature. He has traveled to beautiful places to camp, hike and cliff dive! And he has plans to do SO MUCH MORE!!!
Jeremiah started his college career in computers and network security. And continues to this day, recently finishing a course. Jeremiah has worked in IT for over 6 years now, and newly switching companies. This change in company has been exciting for Jeremiah, except for the recent lapse in his health insurance. AND THIS IS WHY YOU ARE READING THIS NOW. Jeremiah has NO insurance, and NO current income. The $1000’s and $1000’s that have already racked up are just a fraction of what is to come. It will undoubtedly be upwards of $100k. The ambulance cost, the hospital stay, the emergency surgery and the surgeries to come, the intense in-patient rehab and the facility costs and months and months after he’ll need continued outpatient rehab with 24 hour care. This is just too much of a burden for my young son, when he really needs to be focused on his recovery.
I know things are financially tough for so many of us but I also know that even the smallest donations can add up quickly. So please, if you are able, donate! I honestly do not know of anyone more deserving.
This entire situation is so heartbreaking. We love Jeremiah so much and we NEED to see him get the care he DESERVES!!!
Please help us share Jeremiah’s story.
We will keep you updated on his progress. We have NO DOUBT Jeremiah will work so hard to get his life back!
Thank you for your time, and thank you for your support. Jeremiah and all of his family appreciate you more than you know!
Sincerely,
His Momma, Salem
