Jenna was diagnosed with diabetes at age 13. A few years later she was diagnosed with Addison’s disease which means she has 2 autoimmune diseases fighting each other inside her body. Her blood sugars are hard to regulate and because of that she has hypoglycemic seizures. Her blood sugar drops so hard and so fast due to the combo of Addisons and Diabetes, that she does not feel her blood sugars while she is asleep.

She started having my seizures 10 years ago and have at times been life threatening. She was found unconscious when she was 5 months pregnant after having one of these seizures. She fears being alone with her child due to the unpredictable nature of her health.

The most recent seizure was on Friday November 15th which caused her to fall and fracture her ankle. The orthopedic doctor stated it was the worse fracture he’s ever seen. She had surgery and is being told that she is not to be on her feet for a minimum of 90 days and the healing process could take longer due to the complicated case of diabetes she already has. The worse part is that if her ankle doesn’t heal properly it could have to be amputated.

There is an insulin pump that acts as a pancreas and would work with Jenna’s body as well as give her the insulin she needs to make sure a hypoglycemic seizure never happens again.

No more seizures, no more anxiety about going into another coma, no more fear that she won’t wake up the next morning, and hopefully peace of mind for her 5 year old son, that he will never have to find his mommy in that scary situation ever again.

And also no more crazy complications from the blood sugars running so high too. This could keep her from fast approaching kidney failure, and needing dialysis/transplants.

She would be able to live a completely independent life and wouldn’t have to worry about living with someone, etc.

Jenna handles being a single mom and health with such grace and patience. She has a heart of gold and constantly goes out of her way to be there for anyone in need of help. I’d love to see her blessed for being a blessing.

The cost of the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Basal-IQ technology and supplies is around $5,500

Please find it in your hearts to help give this young single mom some relief and a better prognosis for this hand she was dealt.

Every little bit helps!
