Please help JD, a guy who always helps others.
Donation protected
****This is an update and continued request for help. JD was able to get on Medicare but his copay for his chemo treatments are ridiculously $3,800 each treatment, he was turned away and not treated the other day.***** Hi my name is Eddie and although I have donated to gofundme I never thought I would be asking for help.
My longtime friend JD is the hardest working, most generous, be there for you in a moment guy I have ever met. He literally would give you the shirt off his back or help you without you even asking him. He is an old school, old values, respectful rare person I call my friend and brother.
About 3 years ago JD was working for a company as a mechanic for their assembly line that kept things moving. He suffered a heart attack and was out sick recovering and waiting to go back to work when doctors discovered the lump in his neck was advanced stage throat cancer. During this time without full pay and receiving a small disability check each month JD's bills were piling up and he lost his apartment.
Barely able to make his truck payment, car insurance etc. he became homeless. He converted the bed of his pickup into a makeshift living/sleeping area and has been living in his truck for about 2 1/2 years. All this happening while receiving chemo and radiation treatments. When the cancer looked to be in remission, still weak and sick and about half the weight he was in the picture that you see, he would do what he could to work and make money doing side jobs, pumping gas, whatever he could. . He wasn't cleared to return to his job which is a very physically demanding job.
Recently the cancer returned worse than the first time and it was back to chemotherapy and radiation treatments. This time it took a toll on JD and his strength is all but gone. He suffers neuropathy in his feet and hands, the cold is terribly painful and living in his truck his generator doesn't always work properly.
The reason for this request for JD is because 2 days ago JD told me that he hadn't received his disability check and when he called his job he was told that there will be no more checks and his health care coverage was dropped. How is he supposed to buy food, make his truck payment which is his home, and put gas in his truck and generator. Not to mention his treatments will stop for the cancer. Talk about kicking a guy when he is down. We have helped JD when we could over the past few years however we could but he needs more help than I can give him. A year ago I didn't think he would make it, he is a fighter and very resourceful as he has proven by how he is living. He won't ask for help but this is the only way I could think of to help him. Anything you can afford to donate will help, the smallest amount is appreciated to buy him food, and possibly get him into some kind of housing and out of his truck which is in need of repair and that he can't afford. I'm worried about him and don't know how else to help him. Please help me help JD. Thank you, Eddie
