Hi, I'm Lynne and I adopted Janet 18 months ago as a puppy from a rescue in Romania. She is a very special little dog just by being a rescue, but as well as that she has no tail and she also has scarring up her back. Whilst we will never know what happened to her in Romania, we are sure that it wasn't pleasant. Janet settled into home life beautifully and is loved by everyone we meet, but just last week she became unwell and in an awful lot of pain. Our vet sent her to a specialist vet to try and find out what was wrong with her. MRI scans revealed that she was born with 2 deformed vertebrae in her neck which have become unstable and are affecting her spinal cord. Whilst our pet insurance has covered the cost of the scans and blood tests, there isn't enough left to cover the cost of the surgery she urgently needs. She has to wear a neck brace for the next two weeks and she is also on two different lots of pain medication. We are desperately trying to raise the funds for her to have surgery to stabilise the bones in her neck so that she can go back to living a safe, pain-free and happy life ASAP. Any help you are able to give us would be greatly appreciated and speed up the process of her much-needed operation. Thank you in advance.
