Please Help Jan and Marty

Update:
It is with great sadness that we tell you Jan passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 4th. Her condition had progressed, and she wasn't able to continue. She passed as she lived - with courage, dignity and love. The proceeds from GoFundMe will be used to pay medical expenses and funeral costs. The remainder will be used to set up a college fund for her grandson's, Jackson and Greyson in her name and honor. Marty would like to thank you for all the love and support you have given to his beloved Jan. God Bless you all.
My very dear friend, Jan (Gnirk) Hansen, has had a catastrophic medical event which has left her paralyzed from the shoulders down. She walked into Sutter Hospital on May 29th with numbness in her legs. On August 9th, she could no longer walk and lost the use of her hands. The doctors tested and retested and could not determine what is causing this paralyzes. She was then sent to USF for further testing, with some of the best neurologist in the US, who also could not determine why she is suffering this mysterious medical issue, or how to heal her body. The Mayo Clinic also was also involved in Jan's case, with no answers or cures. Sadly, today Jan is confined to a wheelchair, unable to care for herself due to this almost complete paralysis. Her amazing husband is devoted to caring for all her needs. With the medical equipment they have to care for Jan, they are learning to manage her comfort; however, the major challenge they face is the ability to safely transport Jan in and out of their vehicle. It is extremely difficult for Marty. Also, with medical care creating financial uncertainty, the burden of purchasing a van seems impossible for them.
This is why I have decided to start a GoFundMe page, to help them make an extremely difficult catastrophe in their lives livable. They desperately need a vehicle that is handicap equipped. Please help Jan and Marty, so they can purchase a used handicap accessible van and bring a little ease and joy to their lives. Thank you and God Bless.
