Hi my name is Hillliary and I am Jamison's aunt. My sister, Mallory and brother-in-law Jesse welcomed a sweet baby boy, Jamison Floyd on March 22, 2022. They were aware he had congenital heart disease, including a rare heart condition called Shones complex before delivery. Jamison had his first heart surgery on April 6, 2022, to repair the coarctation of his aorta. Unfortunately, this did not resolve his heart condition and his journey to recovery has had many ups and downs since then.
On April 22, 2022, he was life flighted from Akron Children's to Cleveland Clinic. Due to the complexity of the surgery Akron Children’s was unable to care for him. Jamison's heart was failing him and ultimately, he required a risky procedure called The Norwood, an open-heart surgery, manipulating the heart to perform using only a single ventricle, instead of both right and left ventricles. This operation took place on April 26, 2022. This surgery is 1 of 3 in a series necessary to survive.
Jamison’s next open-heart surgery, The Glenn, will take place between the ages of 4 months and 6 months. Jamison is nearly 4 months.
The final open-heart surgery is called the Fontan and will take place between the ages of 3 years to 5 years.
During Jamison's Norwood procedure, the nerve that works his right diaphragm was injured. This injury warranted yet another surgical procedure. On June 15, 2022 Jamison went under the knife again to have a plication of his right diaphragm performed.
Jesse has returned to work, but Mallory has not been able to at this time. Their priority has been to be with Jamison and staying by his side throughout this journey.
Thank you for your support and prayers.
