My name is Jami Davis and I run People & Paws Outreach, helping animals of the homeless and low income by providing food, vaccinations, flea/heartworm prevention and spay and neuters. I receive calls almost on a daily basis from people needing help for their animals. Just this week an elderly lady living on social security only called asking for help to get her 3 chihuahuas spayed/neutered and 3 calls for 6 puppy shots. I currently have 7 female and 5 male dogs needing spay/neuters and 4 cats and 3 kittens needing spay/neuters and 23 puppies needing shots. I donate plasma twice a week to help with the cost of helping our community pets, but it isn’t near enough. I’ve missed 3 months this year of donating plasma because of low protein, passing out at the facility and eye surgery which all placed me on deferral. I have 26 dogs/puppies I currently provide flea/heartworm pills each month and many of those I provide food. Also, this year had 2 puppies hit by car and one had leg amputated. I receive a few donated items from the public which helps, but the bulk of what I do comes out of my pocket. Most of the expense goes to Brentwood Animal Hospital for shots and Accessible Vet Care for the spay/neutering. Brentwood is gracious in letting me get the shots for a discount without charging for an office visit. I’m asking for your help in keeping this important ministry going!
