My name is Rosie Lamoureux, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends Jake and Devon. I’ve had the privilege of watching their family love and support each other through thick and thin, and right now they are facing something no one ever have to. Sunday afternoon, while in Target in Bossier, Jake left to sit in the car because he was sweating and didn't feel good. I kept shopping, of course. He calls and says we need to go to the ER, he's having chest pains and dry heaving. I drop everything and we get to WK Bossier ER at 2:45pm. 2 EKG's show he's fine, so we wait 6 hours in the waiting room. Finally get a room, blood work comes back and they let us know his enzymes are at 120, which is high but not off the charts. So we'll be admitted after we see the cardiologist. Jake sends Cindy, Henry, and I home. I'm home with Olivia getting ready for bed, Olivia and I call Jake to tell him goodnight at 9:54pm. He says goodnight Olivia, I love you. Then says for her to give mom the phone. He says he's not doing well, I asked where's the nurse, he says right here. Then he says, I love you. I said I love you too, then silence, then I heard everything! I heard the coding, I heard the chest compressions, I heard the countless voices, I heard the buzz of the defibrillator, I heard the shocking. Listening all while holding my daughter on our couch. They revive him and the phone call died. Olivia knew I was upset, so she was upset. So I held her and we prayed. I had my parents come back to my house to stay with Olivia, while I went back to the ER where they have him stabalized and talking. He had a Heart Cath done at 12:45am. At 3:15am they let me know he had a complete blockage of the LAD Artery (The Widow Maker) They inserted a stint but his heart was in shock from the stint so they inserted a pump to pump his heart temporarily. To give his heart a rest and to adjust. They also had to intubate him. At 7:15am I got to see him, he was sedated. He has to be sedated because when he comes out of it, he moves his leg and he is not to move the leg at all - that's where the pump is. So fast forward, to 5:00pm Monday. He's transported to WK North CCU. His echo showed significant damage to the valves from the shocking, but can be fixed with time and medicine. He is still sedated and intubated at WK North CCU.
I want to thank each text and call. I have Jake's phone so I'm trying to respond to his messages and calls as well.
This has been the longest few days, but we're trying to stay positive. We serve an amazing, loving God, who I KNOW placed certain things during all this, such as the nurse that just happened to be in the room when he coded and immediately started chest compressions. The not 1, but 2, cardiologists who worked on him that are from the WK North CCU just happened to be at WK Bossier Monday morning. The kindess of the ER nurse who said it’s ok to cry because thats why God gave us tears. The ICU nurse who would make me laugh when all I wanted to do was fall apart. I know we have a long road ahead of us, but He is in control and I know He is with us. Olivia and I are doing ok. I'm keeping her busy with my family and I'm taking things day by day.

Like so many of you, I wanted to help — and when people started asking what they could do, I realized this was one way we could all come together to support them. All funds raised will go directly to help Jake, Devon, and Olivia with medical expenses, time off work, and anything else they may need during this time.

Thank you for joining me in surrounding this amazing family with support, love, and prayer
