Please Help Jack Receive Caregiver Coverage
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lee and I'm an ex-teammate of special operations and a good friend of Jack Fanning. We were both Combat Controllers in the Air Force for many years. More than a decade ago, Jack was left paralyzed below the neck in a training incident. He is a quadriplegic who relies on constant caregiver coverage to assist him with just about everything. He now requires a surgery to repair a bed sore that won't heal after a year and has opened into a gaping hole. The surgery will require Jack to remain in recovery (in a medical facility) for a minimum of 8 weeks. Due to a COVID policy, the Office of Veterans Affairs (V.A.) has informed Jack that they will not continue to provide their normal 4 hours of caregiver coverage each day that Jack is in recovery. This is an enormous expense for Jack to cover and having caregiver support is vital to Jack's life and health.
In addition to his physical health issues above, Jack is also impacted by a wide range of mental health issues. Most recently, Jack has suffered from dozens of panic attacks, mostly occurring in the middle of the night. He also still struggles with PTSD from both his time served overseas and the incident that left him paralyzed. Leaving him without caregiver coverage could be tortuous to him.
Jack is a well-decorated combat veteran and hero but now he needs help from the community. All funds will go directly to Jack to assist with his caregiver costs during his period of recovery after the surgery. Please help and share soon if able. Jack is going into surgery in less than a week. Thank you!
