Hi, I am Schalk.

I am raising funds to help Jack, a good mate and an exceptional young man that needs urgent treatment for brain cancer. The treatment is unfortunately not funded by the NHS.

These are Jack’s own words:

“8 years ago I was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme and deadly brain cancer that kills 99% of its victims. I had brain surgery in July 2019 that left me with subtle yet severe condition- hemiplegia, a type of cerebral palsy. I spent 10 weeks in hospital regaining the function of my right arm and leg.

Since then ive had 4 more neuro surgeries, 2 radiotherapy’s and 2 chemotherapy treatments.

Im now awaiting more treatment which is not available on the NHS

Bevacizumab: Targets a specific protein called Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) to stop tumors from growing new blood vessels. By cutting off the tumour’s blood supply, it "starves" the cancer of needed oxygen and nutrients rather than killing cells directly.”

What Jack doesn’t mention is his iron will to keep going for himself but even more importantly his family. He is a true warrior who deserves our utmost respect and admiration. He has battled on and survived through sheer guts and determination for the last 8 years!

He needs support and hopefully you can help a bit by donating towards an endurance mountain bike ride I am doing.

I will be riding for 36hrs around a 5km route on East Soar farm, Devon, attempting to ride at least 500km in the time, all off road. This is a very tiny challenge compared to the one Jack is going through. He is an amazing lad with an amazing family, if you could donate to please help him it would be much appreciated!
