In October, Ivan noticed a lump on his back. Initially, the lump was thought to have been a cyst. But countless doctors appointments and trips to the ER resulted in unsuccessful treatments. In December, Ivan’s health started to rapidly decline. Once again Ivan and Valerie found themselves in the ER looking for answers and help. After being admitted to the hospital, several tests were conducted and Ivan was ultimately diagnosed with Histiocytic Sarcoma. This rare form of cancer is proving to be aggressive and doctors are still conducting tests to ensure proper treatment can be conducted. However, there is still a lot of unknown information on treatment and recovery.

I am starting this GoFundMe to help the Garcia Family during this rough time. Ivan has been out of work since mid November and will begin chemotherapy soon and possibly surgery.
