Help Comic and Actor Judy Ann Cianciotto Recover and Heal from Debilitating Cancer

$55,000

Those who know comic, actor, and writer Judy Ann Cianciotto, know someone who tries to see the positive and the humor in everything. This tough lady divides her time between Hollywood, CA and New York, NY, and is one of the warmest, funniest, most prolific, generous performers you would ever want to know on the stand-up comedy stage. Judy has a degree in theater; she has always had a true passion for dramatic acting as well, never realizing it would play out in her own life.

This last year was a total surprise and a shock. In February 2021, Judy was diagnosed with cancer of the uterus, and she had a total hysterectomy in April 2021. She started chemo and radiation two months after the operation, and the full treatments ended this past May 2022, but she will continue chemo treatments to keep cancer out of her body and her life for good! These treatments from chemo and radiation are severely painful. They cause debilitating joint pains that the doctors said she would have to work through as she continues to take chemo medication and will for at least another two years. Judy still has trouble walking, as the suffering from the chemo still affects her joints, and continuing pain stops her from working and making money, even part-time. Due to the unforeseen circumstances of Covid-19, she also helped someone who was losing their business by lending them money in January 2021. Judy lost thousands herself and ended up in even worse dire financial straits. The business loan she put out happened two months before she discovered she had cancer, which added to even more severe financial loss. And to no fault of her own, complications on the owner’s part, she wound up losing double what she put in.

Judy is grateful for the treatments she is receiving to battle this disease. She finds that the chemo treatments are not as painful as the direct chemo infusions, but she will have to continue to battle the chronic pain within the next couple of years due to these treatments. Thankfully her cancer was caught in the nick of time, and continued medication and treatments are needed to stop it from spreading or from ever coming back. The advice of her medical team and the miracle of modern science has helped Judy with new oncology experts who offer medically advanced treatments and protocols. They have been highly effective in killing cancer for good and restoring her body tissue and immune system. However, not all these treatments are covered by insurance and are very costly.

Of course, when it rains, it pours; a couple of months ago, Judy’s husband’s restaurant, which he had worked in for over ten years, closed at the end of the month due to complications from the pandemic. They had to borrow money to pay the rent and keep the lights on. She will also have to pay close to $400 per month out of pocket for medication and supplements to continue her recovery, keeping her body strong and protected.

To make matters worse, Judy lost her brother-in-law to an overdose and then her mother-in-law to a broken heart within the last year and a half. Then her father-in-law just passed two months ago. These sad losses are not new to Judy, as she lost her parents back to back 15 years ago. She was the caretaker for her parents and aunt for over two years, at the end of their lives. Judy is no stranger to the hardship involved in helping and losing loved ones. While Judy is deeply thankful for her husband, family, Godsons and friends, others have, sadly, turned their backs.... a not uncommon side effect when dealing with recovering from a dangerous disease. Judy hopes that, in time, other family relationships will be restored.

Right now, the most important thing is focusing on her recovery, and she is very grateful for the people there for her. The chemo medication and supplements are strongly needed to maintain her health and prevent cancer from returning. Unfortunately, we can’t stress enough how vital these medications and treatments are, but they are not covered by insurance.

Judy believes that laughter is one of the best medicines she has ever experienced on both the giving and receiving end. She is also very thankful to be in the professional field of comedy/acting and to continue healing herself and others by bringing even more laughter to others in the years to come. In Judy’s most recent words, she said, “I do not want anybody else to have to go through this, so don’t wait years to go to the doctor. I found out I had this cancer by a fluke, but I am thankful we caught it in time. Please get checked out regularly to prevent this horrible disease from running its course on your life.”

Judy and her family are grateful for any financial help that can be provided to help her continue her treatments and medications, preventing this cancer from ever coming back. Restoring her body tissue and immune system that is very much needed during her recovery, keeping her body strong and protected. No donation is ever too small, and we are profoundly grateful for any amount you can give. Words can’t describe how much Judy appreciates your contributions to helping her to stay healthy and help others fight against this horrible disease. Please keep safe and blessed. Judy would like to share; and says, "I thank you all very much from the bottom of my heart for your support and loving kindness!”
