A Final Goodbye

It is with great sadness and a broken heart that I reach out to you, my friends, to ask for help. I don't know 100% how to begin, but I ask you all to reach within your heart and put all else aside.
Two days before Christmas, we received devastating news that my mother-in-law, an amazingly hard working woman, will be removed from the United States within the next 30 days. A women who has given her life for a better future for her children and grandchildren, will be forced to leave it all behind.
As I write this I break into tears thinking about all of those who will miss her presence. My son Cruz will lose one of his very best friends who has cared for him with such love, laughter and selflessness... his "nana". My niece, who she in great part raised from a baby into an amazing young woman, will in essence lose a mother. The family she stepped in to live with and nanny for will lose their beloved caretaker after the passing of their mother. My husband and brother-in-laws will be losing their number one supporter, best friend, and loving mother after a tremendous life spent together in the United States.
I have to say it for everyone who thinks these issues are so far way.... please believe me when I say they are not. Good people who did what they had to do to give their children a better life are being torn from their loved ones everyday...even here. Families are being separated.... and my husband, Camilo, will lose his mother in a few short weeks like so many others.
My mother-in-law after 28 years will be given 30 days to leave the country and will never have the opportunity to return, for some it will be the final goodbye.
We are hoping to raise as much money as we can to help cover travel, food, relocation costs and the establishment of housing as she transitions into her new life in her home country. Camilo will be accompanying her while she makes this initial transition. I know this is a terrible time of year to ask for help, but whatever you can contribute to help her will go a long way in her home country. As we all say goodbye, we thank you all for caring for our own family and those affected in this way more than we can ever say.
With Immense Gratitude,
Alexa & Camilo and Family
