Please Help in Replacing My Tools
I’m baffled at everyone’s generosity. I didn’t expect to get anywhere close to reaching that goal, but the goal has been reached! I can’t thank everyone enough, I am truly grateful. Thanks to you guys I can replace my tools and return to work. Anything of top of what it cost to replace the tools will be donated to the charities listed in the description. I will keep everyone updated. Thanks again.
My names Lucas Benacerraf, I am an aspiring Art Director, Set Designer, and Carpenter. The majority of my work is in the Film Industry, specifically in the Art Department, where I handle props set dressing and fabrication, as well as make furniture on the side.
Last night, 8/31, I had my tools stolen from my garage. The rental company refuses to admit fault, and is doing nothing to help with compensation. The garage next to mine broke, and they failed to fix it leaving all the items in my storage compromised.
I could care less about the other items missing, but I need my tools in order to earn a living.
With the pandemic, my savings are drained and I cannot replace them on my own. I am selling off a bunch of my clothes and items, and have taken some physical tool donations, but I still need quite a bit of help.
The cost of the tools stolen, and the cost to replace them is close to $5000. Anything over the costs to replace them will be split and donated to St Judes Children Hospital, Alcoholics Anonymous Central Office of Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
Please share with anyone you know with the means to donate, and with any carpenters, set dressers, or weekend warriors that you feel would identify and understand what its like to loose their livelihood.
I understand times are tough, and there's a lot going on in this world, anything helps. The sooner I can replace my tools, the sooner I can return to work and support myself, pay rent, feed myself and my dog, etc.
