Please Help Iggy Beat Bone Cancer!
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
With a heavy and hopeful heart, I am sending out a call to all lovers of Iggy, and to those who understand the deep bond between humans and our four-legged (or should I say three?) family members. Iggy has been diagnosed with bone cancer and requires immediate amputation, post-op care, chemotherapy, and physical rehabilitation. Thus I humbly ask those of you who are willing and able to consider donating. This is a difficult thing to do right now: ask people for money. But upon hearing her diagnosis, I am in full-on-mom-mode. Meaning, I will do anything and everything I can to give this sweet creature a shot at more life. She very much deserves it, and as he doctor put it, "Good Lord! This dog has a LOT of life left in her!"
My request:
$8500
This would cover ONLY HALF of the total upcoming costs of her treatment. I will be emptying my savings, applying for loans, and seeking assistance from other organizations to cover the rest. That will take some time, but Iggy needs to begin treatment NOW if she stands a chance.
All donations help, and any amount, no matter how small, will be deeply appreciated. I will keep all donors informed as to how she is recovering. And in the awful event that she does not survive the surgery, I will return proportionally any funds unused. The upfront cost of the amputation on Thursday will be around $4000. (If that number seems high compared to the national average, remember that Iggy is a Brooklyn pup, and vets in NYC are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. Just getting to a diagnosis has already cost me $1800.)
So if you can help, please do. And if you can't, Iggy and I love you anyway and we thank you for all the loving messages of support you have been sending our way.
Thank you for reading.
Graciously yours,
Jamie and Iggy
