Please help Hilary fight cancer!

Hilary is a loving mum of 2 young men, those who know her know she is one of the most caring, loving and compassionate people we all have the joy of having in our lives. She is a passionate hairdresser with a thriving business and wonderful, loyal clients. She was devastated when she became sick and could not work!

 

She has always had a love for the great outdoors. She is a yoga queen, loves mountain biking, kayaking, walking, camping the list goes on.

 

She is also obsessed with clean, healthy living, yet in Feb 2021 at the peak of her health and fitness, she found a lump in her breast. Her worst fears were confirmed that she had Metaplastic Triple Negative Breast Cancer stage 2b. Triple-negative is the most aggressive form of breast cancer.

 

She fought 20 rounds of grueling IV chemotherapy, two surgeries, 25 days of radiation & 4 months of oral chemotherapy. Finally, light was at the end of the tunnel. With just 10 weeks left of treatment, she signed a 2-year contract to go on the Gloria Trial for the TNBC vaccine.

 

Before starting, she had tests done only to find out she could not go on the trial because her triple-negative cancer had returned in both lungs and now was classed as stage 4 cancer. Due to the trial, she found Professor Arlene Chan, who is the head of the breast cancer research clinic at Hollywood hospital. She is one of the top breast cancer oncologists in WA.

 

Hilary is desperate to stay with Professor Arlene Chan, which will give her the best chance! But at a hefty price being in the private sector. Although Hilary has private health insurance, it does not cover private hospital fees, nor does it cover some cancer treatments she will need. One, in particular, will cost $8000 per IV treatment, which she will need many of.

 

Unfortunately, the government does not cover certain cancer treatment drugs! Nor does it cover any alternative therapy treatments, for example, vitamin C infusions that are amazing for cancer but not under the PBS.

 

Please help Hilary to be able to access the best treatments to be able to prolong her life for as long as possible.

 

We encourage everyone to share her story to ensure she gets the help she needs. Even people who are not financially able to help may read her story, that even when you are healthy, anyone can get cancer at any time.
