Dear friends and fellow dog lovers, I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share some devastating news about our sweet Henry. He has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL), a very dangerous and fast-growing cancer that often affects dogs between 5-6 years old who were previously healthy. The symptoms can mimic other illnesses and are easily missed or misdiagnosed.

Henry’s main symptom was very heavy, fast, noisy breathing at night, which is what sent us to the vet. Other symptoms include lethargy, loss of appetite, enlarged lymph nodes, diarrhea, and weight loss. Right now, there aren’t many good treatment options. Chemotherapy is long, difficult, and offers only a small chance of success, with recurrence being very likely.

Recently, Henry received an injection that may help destroy some leukemia cells and give him a little more time, and he is also on prednisone for comfort. We’re cherishing every moment with him and showering him with as much love as possible.
