Back on October 1st, a year after making his debut for Paulton Rovers FC First Team, 17 year old Harry Collins was playing in a FA Youth Cup fixture vs Chippenham Town when out of nowhere his leg gave way and Harry ended up having to be stretchered off the pitch.

After a 3 week wait for an MRI Scan, Harry has been told that he has completely torn his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) and also damaged his MCL (Medial Cruciate Ligament).

Harry now requires an operation to get him back playing sports, unfortunately he has been told that there is a 10 month waiting list for the operation and recovery will then take a further 12 months, thus putting Harry out of action till nearly 2028.

He will now miss out on his final year of youth sport, devastating news for a young lad who has always participated in a lot of sport such as football, rugby, athletics and is also a frequent gym goer.

It’s going to be an uphill battle for Harry to get back fit (both physically and mentally) after the injury and we would like to do whatever we can to help. That’s where you come in-

We are asking for donations to try & help fund private care for Harry so he can hopefully get his operation sooner rather than having to wait 10 months, however there is a large fee for ACL surgery that typically ranges from £7000- £11000. We understand we are probably being a bit unrealistic about the amount of help that may be available and therefore if we cannot reach enough to get the operation done privately then any funds we can raise would help Harry through his rehabilitation, physio and get any specific help he needs to get him back playing sooner.
