Hi my name is Lorraine and I am asking for help. I wouldn’t normally ever ask for help but our amazing dog Harley has been diagnosed with aggressive Lymphoma.
Harley is a one off Cairn Terrier- ShiTzu cross with the most amazing personality.
He has been the most amazing support over the years for both my daughters growing up. With autism, social anxiety and mental health struggles. The one constant has always been Harley waiting to greet them the second they come through the door, making them feel relaxed and comfortable and making life feel worthwhile again.
We took him to the vets to check out a problem he had been with previously and were completely shocked to come away with a referral to the oncologist vets. After waiting 3 weeks for an appointment I rang to chase up as we had heard nothing to be told he had been denied the appointment due to availability. Our vet said they hadn’t received this email so we lost over 3 weeks of time trying to get another appointment.
travelling an hour for the new appointment we agreed to go ahead with investigations which cost nearly £2000 of the £3000 insurance cover. On receiving a call on Friday we were told that he surprisingly has an aggressive form of Lymphoma which to my shock and horror will cost £13,000.
As a single parent I cannot afford to fund this treatment. I have spent all weekend on the internet looking for alternative treatments, possible studies to apply for and am at my wits end trying to find a solution.
I would be amazed and extremely grateful if anyone could possibly support in any way possible. Harley still seems so well that the thought of him not being here is too much to bear. Apparently the decline is pretty rapid once it starts.
Thanks at least for reading x x x
