April 27th, while visiting Rincon, Puerto Rico, Haris Trobovic suffered a severe brain stem stroke and was airlifted to San Juan. He was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit and remains in a coma to this day.
For many of you who do not know Haris personally, his mother and sister wish to share a note about him. His kindness, selflessness, gentleness, and unconditional love for all people has been an inspiration in their lives. He is a gift not just to them but to the many people who know him. Despite his intellectual disability, his sweet personality and naturally kind disposition allow him to connect to people and be loved by them in return.
After considering many options, the best place for Haris to recover is in his homeland Bosnia. But the cost to safely transport him from Puerto Rico to Bosnia is astronomical and more than his immediate family can afford. The medical transport flight across the Atlantic costs $100,000 due to his diagnosis and mandatory medical needs. We humbly ask for your help in supporting the effort to get Haris home.
