Please help Gus the Wonder Pug

HI there, my name is Kate, and I'm Gus the WonderPug's mama. Those of you who follow Gus on insta know that as of late, he's been sick, and was recently diagnosed with PLE (Protein Losing Enteropathy). He's been struggling to eat, and has lost weight from the extreme diarrhea he's experienced over the past few weeks. He's normally 22lbs, and now down to 17lbs. He's slowing down and lethargic, and his muscles are atrophying due to the lack of ability to digest and process protein efficiently. He currently has IBD, and once we can manage that, we can start to manage the PLE symptoms. We are currently waiting for results to find the underlying cause of the PLE.

Over the past weekend, his condition worsened considerably, and he had to be hospitalized for a few nights at the emergency vets. He had to have an endoscopy and an esophageal tube placed so we can try to get nutrients in him. His back end had to be shaved so help relieve his very irritated behind. He's been getting an IV for re-hydration. We will find out results of his blood panel on Wednesday 4/10, and the results of his endoscopy on Friday, 4/12. We are praying that this is something we can treat and we don't have to make a difficult decision in the next few days.

Needless to say, we are all sad, stressed, worried, and hoping that he can recover from this. I wouldn't normally consider this, but in 3 days, this has cost us over $9k in expenses. As a teacher (with a kid going off to college next year), this is not something I can take on easily, and so I am asking for help. If Gus has brought you joy (like he brings me joy daily!), I would be humbled and grateful for anything you'd consider donating.

The funds would go directly to the vet hospital to cover this gigantic bill and for the amazing care he has received thus far. I will continue to update on his progress.
