Help Gus the Pup Fight Cancer

Meet Gustopher (Gus) McClellan. He’s a retriever mix whose favorite days consist of the following on repeat: cuddling, snuggling, swimming, sleeping, eating, getting belly rubs, and frolicking in the backyard. My sister rescued Gus from a shelter when he was a year old, and he’s been making people smile and stealing hearts ever since. My nieces consider him a third sibling – always taking him to the park and the lake for adventures.

This past month, a tumor was discovered and after a biopsy, Gus was subsequently diagnosed with melanoma of the mouth at only 7 years old. He’s already gone through one surgery and due to the aggressive growth of the tumor, which makes eating difficult, my sister is anxiously awaiting a meeting with the oncology vet early next month to discuss options and treatment.

As you can probably imagine, costs are adding up quickly. And at such a young age, we are all heartbroken that Gus, a pup who offers unconditional love and cuddles to all he meets, is faced which such a difficult diagnosis. While we know the road ahead may be challenging, Gus’ spirit remains unbroken, and we are dedicated to helping get Gus the help he so greatly deserves.

We understand that everyone has their own battles, especially during these trying times, but any donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in Gus’ fight against cancer. Any funds raised will help cover existing and future medical expenses, which include upcoming consultations, potential treatments, and any additional surgeries that may be necessary to give Gus the best chance of recovery.
