Dear friends, family, and compassionate hearts,

Today, I reach out to you with a heavy heart for our dear friend Gregory, who is bravely fighting an unimaginable battle against Glioblastoma. Gregory has been a vibrant part of our lives for over 20 years, filling our days with laughter, support, and friendship. Yet, this past July, we noticed a shift—something was not right, and soon we faced the devastating truth: Gregory is facing a battle for his life.

Diagnosis and Struggles

Gregory has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, specifically Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer that is wrapped around critical parts of his brain, making it inoperable. This illness has taken away his ability to communicate verbally and has affected his motor skills, leaving him vulnerable and in need of care. He is currently receiving treatment in Colorado, surrounded by his loving family—but the road ahead is long and challenging.

Jackie's Dedication

For nearly four years, Gregory and Jackie have built a life together filled with love and laughter. Gregory has been the cornerstone of his household, but with his condition, Jackie is now faced with the overwhelming burden of managing her finances on her own. Sadly, circumstances have forced her to move out of the home they shared together and back into her old apartment, all while juggling the care of their two beloved dogs, including Chugy—who means the world to Gregory, and her 2 kids. She works tirelessly as a waitress, but without Gregory’s income, times have become incredibly tough.

Jackie sacrifices so much for Gregory, visiting him from Monday through Thursday when she can save enough for a plane ticket, pouring her heart into caring for him each day in the hospital and sleeping on the couch beside his hospital bed. Then, she returns to Lake Tahoe before the weekend so she can go to work, working tirelessly to pay the bills and keep their life afloat. Every trip she makes adds to the mounting financial strain, with thousands spent on flights alone.

Gregory's Plea to see his Dog

During my recent visit, the longing in Gregory’s eyes was eminent as he expressed his deep desire to see his dog, Chugy. When I asked if he wanted to see his dog, he squeezed and shook my hand with an intensity I’ll never forget—his desperation for companionship was clear through his head nods and tears. In these moments, it became so apparent that being surrounded by his loved ones, including Jackie and his fur babies, is what will bring him comfort and joy as he navigates this painful and lonely journey. Every time Jackie has to leave the hospital and return to her job in Tahoe, he gets saddened and doesn't want her to get on the plane. Please help us find her a way to stay ❤️.
