During the year we (as with many other voluntary groups) have really missed out on being able to put on events, from our Monthly meetings, Repair Cafes and our stall at the Street Fayre, to many other things too, due to Covid-19.
Our events not only exist to help our environment but also to raise NECESSARY FUNDS so that we are able to keep doing things like - managing Terrys Community Wood, hosting our website, buying the oak trees for our 1,000 oak tree project, helping make our social housing warmer, cheaper to run and climate ready with our Warmer Wedmore scheme’, and of course our Zero Carbon Wedmore project which is gathering speed all the time - the list is long!
We have been incredibly lucky recently in partnering up with the Food Forest Project who have helped us enormously in creating our new Worthington Woods site for everyone to enjoy for many years to come.
It comes with over 250 bushes and trees, benches, information boards and our very own rain water collector. We would like to help them too, and to say a big thank you. Everything they have done for us has been for free, from the site surveys, to our lovely info board, the professional creation of the site design, ordering, paying for and the deliver of the trees, organising the plant up day and heaps of help along the way.
So this fund raiser we are splitting 50/50 with the Food Forest Project. Further details about what their aims are here: https://www.thefoodforestproject.org/
So, if you appreciate us, the work we do, and the projects that are ahead please HELP US and give what you can to our Festive Fundraiser.
We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year....!
