On 10/4/19 my 1994 Saturn's engine broke.  My mechanic said it was due to age and the cost of the repair was well in excess of the value of the car.

 I have the opportunity to purchase a 2010 Mazda Hatchback with 80,000 miles. This car should last me the rest of my driving life. A friend who is very knowledgable about cars has picked it out.
 
I am asking for $5000.00 to pay for the car the various fees required by the State of California and toward the car insurance. I need to raise all of this money this week. I have an ***urgent*** medical appointment 20 miles away and no other means to get there.

Additionally, in October I am scheduled to take a Peer to Peer Support Training course, online. The purpose is so that I will be trained to help others who have a mental illness and perhaps I will be able to share what I have learned in the decades I have lived with my own mental illness. 

This will be volunteer work and I will be at the disposal of the County which will send me where there is a need.  As this County is huge with several municipalities, I really need a car to get to where I may be of use.

I cannot begin to tell you how hard it is to function without a car.  Simple everyday errands such as going to the pharmacy or the supermarket have to be arranged days in advance.  Also, I have tons of medical appointments every month that I need to get to. I promise to maintain the car and have regular oil changes. I would love to go and look at the ocean or sit in the Park and read or knit.
