‼️PLEASE HELP‼️ MEENAS JOURNEY ❤️
Donation protected
Hi my name is Chelsea, On Sunday the 1st of September I was walking through Beam park, Dagenham, London with my daughter and this little kitten came out from the football pitch crying for help and trying her best to come towards us. (Turns out she is only 4 weeks old!!)
I have absolutely no experience when it comes to cats and really didn’t even know how to interact but I knew she needed help so we brought her home to feed and clean her up. She was lethargic, dehydrated, hungry and very skinny!
We Kept her overnight and stayed up to keep a close eye on her until we could get her to the vets on Monday.
When we brought her in, she wouldn’t weigh on the scales so they had to use a kitchen scales for her weight to read. We were told that she was very poorly, with full of fleas, problems with her back legs, extremely anaemic and at the cusp of not being able to bring back but with lots of hope and prayers (and overnight at the vets on a drip for fluids) she made it through the night.
We were also told that she has Neurological Issues. We found out that she is the last of a litter of kittens who had been DUMPED in the same park about a 4 days before I found her and her siblings were rescued.
She has lasted by herself, alone in that park for days before i found her and had I not, she would definitely not be alive today.
To be honest I can’t believe she hadn’t been eaten by a fox or that she managed to survive all but when she came to me, she really used every single ounce of her being to get my attention
My daughter has fallen absolutely in love with her and she is already loved by us so much.
On Tuesday we took her to a second vet after she was discharged from her overnight stay and we were told that this poor baby needs a BLOOD TRANSFUSION ASAP as she has no hope of survival without it. We thought no problem let’s go ahead, and we were asked for a crazy sum of money up front and simply cannot afford that kind of money. We were referred by PDSA to a place called Southfields and they wanted £3,000 and there was no way we could afford this so we brought her to Vets4Pets and offered what we had on us which was only £50 and to set up a payment plan/ direct debit the rest and was told it’s not possible. The cost there is minimum £500 upfront and told roughy £1500 for the transfusion alone!
To test further extent of her Neurological Disorders she needs to have an MRI which is anything up to £2500 here in the UK.
Little miss Meena (mimi) is here now at home with us and is really very comfortable but not at all in good health.
I originally moved to London to care for my father who sadly passed unexpectedly not long after we moved over and i have been heartbroken ever since and I can’t help but have the feeling my dad made myself and Meena cross paths that day as it was pure fate that I ended up where I found her.
This little kitten should not be alive today, but against all odds SHE IS ❤️ And I’m hoping to fight tooth and nail for her as long as I can see that very bright fight for life in her eyes.
She deserves a chance and has not at all had a good start. A life is a life at the end of the day and I’m hoping that I can save this little ones.
Any donations will go solely towards an urgent blood transfusion for Meena and possibly an MRI as well as her Medical fees. I really do not know how long or difficult this road will be for us to get Meena up on her feet but I need to be prepared. These last few days have been traumatising. If I had the money there in my own pocket this would not be an issue but unfortunately I don’t.
This little kitten chose us and I’m glad she did because there is not a house in the universe that will love or fight more for her than what we do.
If you are reading this and are not in a position to donate, I just ask that you keep Meena in your thoughts and pray for her to pull through.
Love Chelsea, Alex, Tommi and Meena xxx
