Please help give Leo a fighting chance

Leo is a 19 year old Miniature Horse that has been fighting undetermined health problems for the past three and a half years. He has fought and fought the odds time and time again, but this year has become his most challenging battle yet. Three years ago he was diagnosed with chronic liver disease. He was only given a few weeks to live as the Vets could not control his rising GGT levels. Somehow he fought back and survived. Heck he thrived. But unfortunately he has made several return trips to NC State Hospital for continued colic episodes as well as fevers of unknown origin and endotoxemia. This year he has been rushed back four times for treatment, just this week twice. We have run out of medically managed options. The Vets say that exploratory surgery and biopsies are they only option left to determine his illness once and for all. He has fought so hard and shared so much love as a therapy horse for most of his life, that he deserves this chance for normalcy. People say it’s just a horse. Anyone that loves animals knows that this is NEVER the case. Please help and share if you can. Leo and I are hoping for a miracle.
