My sweet Ginger was just diagnosed with
“Mast cell tumor” that turned out to be cancerous. It all happened so fast and unexpectedly during a routine annual vet visit. I pointed out a growth on her leg to the vet. It looked like a wart or a large skin tag and even the vet was not too concerned about it at first. However I was offered a simple needle biopsy just to be sure. Well, the results were devastating. Cancer. And to make things worse, this type of cancerous tumor releases large amounts of histamine to Ginger’s bloodstream which makes her feel awful. She started large doses of antihistamines and is scheduled for her pre-op bloodwork. She needs a special surgery to remove this tumor along with one of her lymph nodes. There is a possibility that the cancer has spread but I am trying to be positive and hopeful and pray that the surgery will save her life. Ginger is my whole world. She is my child and I cannot imagine a life without her. She is only 6 years old and in a great health otherwise so I am really hoping she will pull through. I rescued Ginger from a shelter as a 4 months old Basset hound/Golden Retriever puppy and she has been my biggest joy and love. I am kindly asking for help since she needs her surgery soon and I cannot afford it due to my own medical bills. Anything you can donate is very much appreciated, and if you are not able to donate, prayers and healing vibes are also very much appreciated. Thank you so much! Elisabeth and Ginger.
