Please help get Philippines MXO team to World Cup

This July, the Philippines Mixed Open team will head to Nottingham, England to compete in the 2024 Touch Football World Cup competition, where we have one of the youngest ever teams to compete at an Opens level at a World Cup. With majority of our players still in high school, or just starting their working careers, we are looking for the community’s support to give these young athletes a once in a lifetime opportunity to take part in this momentous event.

The Philippines team shook the foundations of World Touch at the 2023 Asia Pacific Youth Touch Cup (APYTC) by being the only non- Australian or NZ team to make the grand finals. We are now combining these young players with our World Cup seasoned veterans to compete against 28 other nations in the Open Mixed division. This will be the biggest ever opens division pool at a World Cup

At the 2019 World Cup, Coach John Beesley and Captain Mark Cecil set the culture finishing 6th out of 20 nations in the Open Men division. A huge achievement given our resources. Having beaten one of the “Big 2” nations at APYTC, demonstrates that we are capable of competing against the best Touch Football players in the world.

With Touch Football being a self funded sport, the costs to our players to compete in Nottingham comes at a high cost.
