Hi, my name is Lily McGeough,

I’m a 13‑year‑old country girl from Biggenden/Wallaville Queensland, Australia, and horses have been my world for as long as I can remember. I’ve been barrel racing for the past four years, and every time I ride, I feel completely free — it’s where I belong.

This year, one of my biggest dreams came true — I qualified to represent Australia at the NBHA Barrel Racing World Championships in Perry, Georgia, USA in July 2026! I’ve been selected to compete in both the 1D and 5D World Qualifiers, which is such an incredible honour.

Representing my country on the world stage is beyond exciting, but it also means raising the funds to get there. Because we can’t take our own horses, we’ll need to cover horse hire, tack hire, transportation, accommodation, flights, and food. Every little bit will help turn this dream into reality and get me to the starting gate in the USA.

This year, my journey also holds a special meaning. ❤️

I will be riding in memory of my beautiful friend Kirra, who was tragically taken from us three years ago. Losing her was heartbreaking for me, our friends, and our whole community. She was always my biggest cheerleader — and now I want to make her proud by carrying her spirit with me in every run I do.
